We Did Our Homework

Updated: Aug 21, 2024

Thank you for joining us and for your ongoing support and faithful prayers for Joy and your compassion and encouragement shown our family.

This being Saturday Joy had a more limited therapy schedule of just two speech sessions. In addition, we did homework from occupational therapy and physical therapy. The photo in the post is of Joy “marching” while not holding on to any support and keeping her balance perfectly through twelve repetitions. Once again, while her physical progress has been truly amazing, her time in speech therapy was tearfully frustrating for her because of the aphasia, but our return to the physical therapy exercises allowed her a sense of success. And, we were able to enjoy two beautiful times out on the deck here, it was nice to breathe the fresh air and enjoy the sunshine on our faces.

I know yesterday I requested prayer specifically for healing of Joy’s language center and aphasia. Last night and today, Joy, for the first time, shared with me her fear that her right eye is damaged and that she may never see correctly again. While we have been concerned for the right eye because of the trauma the right side of her head including fractures of the orbital bone, Joy has not expressed that much concern until last evening. So if I may ask for another “specific” request, the healing of and sight fully restored to Joy’s right eye.

Since tomorrow is Sunday, I will probably wait to post again until Monday, but please continue your prayers throughout the rest of the weekend for Joy’s healing in body, mind, and spirit. We thank God for each one of you and for the great blessing that you are our family.
