Good afternoon/evening. Once again thank you all so much for your faithful and compassionate prayers for Joy through her surgery. The surgery was delayed, due to the hospital’s schedule, and didn’t start until almost 2:00. The tracheostomy and feeding tube placement went well and we are very pleased that she is now free of the discomfort of tubes in her mouth and throat.
But perhaps even better news, was that the MRI she had performed yesterday, showed no significant tendon or ligament damage to the neck, which allowed the cervical collar to be removed just before she went to surgery and for that we are truly grateful.
Please continue to pray for uneventful healing of the tracheostomy and feeding tube sites and also continued prayer for reduction of her intracranial pressure, to the point that her bone flap can be replaced.
