Joy had a quiet night and while she seemed a bit less responsive physically, her vital signs remained stable and she continued breathing on her own. She would open both eyes occasionally and seemed to track to the sound of my voice.
After a back and forth discussion of how to address Joy’s broken right wrist and right elbow wound, surgery was chosen and scheduled for this morning. Alyx and Marc arrived this morning and were able to spend time with Joy before her surgery. The surgery went relatively quickly and the surgeon was very happy with the result and despite now having a metal plate and 8 screws in her wrist, felt she would have full use and mobility of her wrist and hand.
She is now appears to be resting comfortably.
