Joy is showing little change in her responsiveness except for opening her eyes a bit more frequently. She had a new CT scan this morning which was described as “stable,” not worsening, but only showing slow progress. The trauma surgeon, commenting on the scan, shared that there still is visible edema and the blood from the two internal bleeds.

Joy opens her eyes when she hears sounds and when touched on her left hand or foot, she only responds to deep pain stimulation to her right foot and hand. And, apparently my observation yesterday regarding the brain flap was overly optimistic, so again, slow progress.

Please be assured that if there are any material changes, I will share them right away, otherwise, I will continue to provide at least a daily update.

We thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for all the expressions of love and faithful prayer you have lifted and are lifting up for Joy.
