Good evening and thank you for your faithful interest in Joy’s healing and recovery, we so appreciate your compassionate concern.
Joy had a restful night last night and another busy therapy day today. In addition to her PT and speech therapy, one of the most exciting parts of the day was our work with the occupational therapist. I had done a video recording throughout our house so that the therapists could see our exact living situation. Today we went through the recording in detail recreating in the therapy apartment and gym, many aspects of our daily living. Practicing the stairs for the same number to get up to bedroom at our home, sitting at table in a chair the same height as at home, using a toilet the same height, practicing getting into and out of the bath/shower, and getting into and out of a bed the same as ours. Joy accomplished each task with flying colors and it was so encouraging to feel like we are that much closer to actually being in our home once again, because there was certainly a time when I questioned whether that could ever happen.
Joy rounded out her day with some FaceTime calls coordinated by her friend Lynn.
