Joy’s neurological status is little changed except for a bit more wakefulness. While concrete positive signs are slow in coming, there appear to be no negative issues developing for which we are thankful.
I (Gary) just talked with the orthopedic surgeon this morning , Joy had surgery scheduled for today at 1:30 to repair her broken right wrist and debride a wound on her right elbow, but now he's going to try a closed reduction in the room and then cast her wrist and see if he can sufficiently debride the wound. If he can't get the wrist to set properly and/or the wound debridement can't be dealt with in the room, he'll take her right to surgery. They're doing this to try and avoid anesthesia if possible because of the brain injury.
I'll keep you posted and thank you all for your continued thoughts and prayers.
