Good morning from Minneapolis, Minnesota! We thank God for his grace shown and you for all our faithful prayers and gifts in getting us here.
Joy seemed to have a restful night only once complaining of pain and discomfort. I stayed with her through the night and will be here through her therapy sessions today. We met with one of the rehabilitation doctors last evening and were provided a full schedule for Joy’s therapy sessions today. The staff have been very kind and responsive making us feel very much at home.
Our daughter-in-law Caitlyn was here to meet us and help us get settled and Alyx arrived soon after. Joy was thrilled to see them both exclaiming through tears of joy how wonderful it was to see them. As an OT, Caitlyn has and will be a tremendous help in advocating for the care Joy needs. Alyx brought my car to me and also some items Joy needs for her first day of therapy.
I’ve mentioned before how just saying thank you seems so inadequate to express how much your faithful prayers, and in getting us home, your faithful giving, mean to us, but we do thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
Joy has come so far and yet has so far to go, so please continue your prayers for healing of Joy’s physical and emotional needs. Specific areas are endurance for her new rehabilitation program, continued healing of damaged brain tissue and neuro pathways, cognitive/aphasia healing, and healing of her right ear and right eye, both of which we knew were damaged but not yet to what extent.
Although prayers for Joy are coming from around the country and indeed around the world, we feel much closer to your love and prayers now that we are home. Thank you so much!!
