Good evening and thank you for checking in on us and for your continued prayers for Joy’s healing and recovery, especially her language and sight.
Yesterday we enjoyed online church and then had a visit from Marc, Caitlyn, and the boys, grandma loved the hugs and to see how much our grandsons have grown! I think they both doubled in size in the last two months!! Also, fortunately, we still had some grandma muffins in the freezer to send home with them as an appreciation treat. Grandma is anxious to get back to making her famous muffins, so I’m sure it won’t be long before fresh muffins are available.
Today I was busy following up on calls and scheduling appointments for additional therapies and follow up doctor visits. Then this afternoon Joy was blessed with a visit from a soulmate crafter, quilter, sewer friend who blessed Joy with a beautiful quilt she sewed while Joy was in the hospital. She crocheted and Joy knitted away more than an hour of precious time together. Joy was elated after their visit. The day also involved doing our therapy homework and additional exercises we are making up as we go.
Tomorrow we are being visited by an in-home assessment group contracted by BCBS and then Wednesday launch into our therapy assessments at Courage Kenny Golden Valley.
We are so very thankful for your presence and willingness to persevere with us on Joy’s long journey of healing. So many things are going so well and yet the daunting language and visual challenges keep pulling us back to the current reality. So, as we have many times before, we continue to covet your earnest prayers for restoration of Joy’s language center, healing of her sight, and encouragement emotionally when the reality of the limitations loom large. Thank you, once again, for standing with us, your presence means so much to us.
