Dear friends and family,
Marc and I arrived safely back home in Minnesota yesterday afternoon. As glad as I am to be home, sleep in my own bed, and see my husband and our dog, leaving Florida was one of the hardest things I've ever done.
I will be traveling back to Florida to be with Mom and Dad this Thursday, and will stay for as long as I need to. I'll be spending the next couple of days figuring out family medical leave paperwork at work (thankfully, my boss has been incredibly understanding and this shouldn't be a problem), talking to my therapist, and processing some feelings before I head back down. Marc will remain here in Minnesota to help manage any logistics on this end.
I have been describing the situation as one where "we won't know until we know." There's so much that is uncertain and unpredictable. What I do know is that Mom is so strong, and that we have an incredible support network in the midst of all of this. As I've told a few of you in other places, I'm feeling a lot of things right now, but "alone" isn't one of them, and I'm so, so grateful for that.
