Good morning and thank you all for your tremendous demonstration of faithful prayers and loving support to Joy and our family.
We had a good night together in the ICU. Joy appeared to rest well and comfortably. She was received like a celebrity here in the ICU with several of the nurses here who cared for her just after the accident, marveling at how far she has come, and how well she is doing, as they cheered her on. Joy had some periods of confusion in the night but did not seem overly distressed and readily accepted my responses and explanations.
The neurosurgeon was in early this morning and confirmed the surgery went well and he appears willing to work with us on orchestrating the stay here in such a way as to allow for our “sooner than later” return to Minnesota. With us just arriving in the ICU last evening, things like OT, PT, and Speech therapies will take some time to re-engage here.
Please pray for Joy’s rapid and uneventful healing from her cranioplasty as well as continued healing of her body, brain tissue, cognition, emotions, and spirit. Please pray also for me as I continue our efforts to get Joy home to Minnesota as safely and as soon as possible.
Thank you again for your amazing prayer support and emotional encouragement. Thank you also for your generosity in gifts to Joy’s GoFundMe campaign, we have raised 91% of the Med-Flight costs and are overwhelmed by your kindness shown.
Just saying thank you, never seems adequate to describe how much your support means to Joy and our family, but from the bottom of our hearts, thank you!!
