Good evening and thank you for your faithful prayers for Joy and our family. Today was a generally positive day for Joy. Her OT and PT sessions spent significant time working on strengthening her right hand and arm as well as activities modeling work around the house and outside the home like shopping at a grocery store. Speech therapy seemed to go better with Joy seeming less frustrated with the process.
In the afternoon I was joined by Alyx and Marc for an hour class by OT that explained more about the nature of traumatic brain injuries, how they are best treated, the proposed rehab plan for Joy, and how we as care givers can best care for and support Joy’s healing and therapeutic goals.
Joy did become tearful again this evening as she talked about her discouragement over her damaged eyesight and how much that impacts her favorite activities from the past.
So we once again we ask for prayer for healing of Joy’s eyesight, healing of Joy’s language center, and healing for the physical and emotional wounds that still remain.
I would appreciate your prayers as I spend an extended time at home on Saturday and Sunday preparing the house for our homecoming Thursday.
We look forward each day to our transition home and thank you so much for faithful prayers and God’s grace that are getting us there.🙏
