I’ve been playing a variety of Joy’s favorite classical music including her favorite Edvard Grieg album.
Joy has been scheduled for a tracheostomy and feeding tube placement this morning.
I wanted to share the list of her injuries to allow a better understanding of just how much we need your prayers.
I'm feeling a lot of things right now, but "alone" isn't one of them, and I'm so, so grateful for that.
Thank you all for your deep concern, compassion, and prayers. While Joy was opening both eyes a bit wider and for a bit longer period...
We learned today that Joy not only had a subdural hematoma, but an internal brain bleed resulting in permanent brain damage in that area.
Joy had a quiet night and while she seemed a bit less responsive physically, her vital signs remained stable.
Joy’s neurological status is little changed except for a bit more wakefulness, but there appear to be no further negative issues developing.
Joy’s responsiveness is still limited, on the other hand, I was just told that she is breathing completely on her own now.
